Application Process
We have more than 300 carers that have been through this process
7 steps to becoming a carer with us.
1. Contact us
by telephone or use our ‘contact us’ form on our website and tell us you’d like to be a carer. We will then send you an application form.
2. Complete the Application form
We’ll then contact you to discuss becoming a carer and arrange an initial visit from one of our Shared Lives Coordinators
3. Initial Visit
We want get to know you and for you to be able to ask us questions about the role.
4. The Assessment Process
This is a combination of checks (including DBS), references and home visits. We’re looking to get a clear picture of who you are.
5. Training sessions
You will receive comprehensive mandatory training, this will give you an insight into the role ahead.
6. Approval Panel
The last part of the process is for your application to be assessed by our independent approval panel who make a final decision.
7. Matching
Once approved, the matching process starts. Our coordinators will contact you to discuss potential referrals.
