SLC Linda Mogford retires from Shared Lives South West at Christmas

Linda Mogford retires

After almost 16 years at Shared Lives South West, Linda Mogford is set to hang up her SLC hat.
She retires from the organisation will be on Christmas Eve.
Over the years she has seen SLSW grow.
“When I started there were four SLC’s, one member of admin, one finance person and the CEO. Now we have a staff team of over 40,” she said.
“We’ve grow hugely.”
She has had numerous ‘Goodbye’ get togethers with the Shared Lives families she has supported over the years.
“I’ve got to know many of the carers and the people who use our services,” she said.
“I will really miss them.
“The biggest reward for me is seeing people move on from SLSW to an independent setting.
“I’ve also supported some of our parent and child placements. They are a service I’d like to see it developed further as it is something I feel passionately about.”
Despite retiring, Linda shows no signs of slowing down and won’t be a stranger to SLSW.
She is joining our Approval Panel and will also be a sessional worker at our Carer Meetings.
“I’m also hoping to join the Samaritans, I have signed onto the Kingsteignton Swimming Pool Committee and will be going into my grandchildren’s school to listen to the readers.,” said Linda.
“I certainly won’t be bored,”
“I’ll also be a lady who lunches.”
When she retires Linda also has two big holidays booked to Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand in January and then she’s off to Florida with her grandchildren.

That should keep very busy indeed!

All of us at Shared Lives South West would like to wish Linda the very best  and thank her for dedicating so many years to SLSW.

In the Summer we said another ‘Goodbye’ to longstanding SLC Jane Rolfe.
