Care Awards
Anne and Sarah didn’t win their categories, but Shared Lives South West is thrilled that that got so far in the nationwide competition.
They were supported by SLSW CEO Dominic Spayne, SLC’s Lesley Saunders, Hayley Nicholls and Jean Harper as well as Sarah’s husband Edward at the glitzy event.
The inspirational evening saw the best of the best in the care world fly the flag for the industry. Similarly it recognised individual workers.

It’s the second awards ceremony Sarah has attended in a matter of months. She took home the top award at the CAHSC Learning Partnership Care and Support Awards and awarded the Outstanding Supported Housing Award.
When she collected the award, Sarah said she ‘made the best decision of her life’ becoming a SLSW carer 12 years ago.
Over time, Sarah has worked a lot with young people who used their Shared Lives South West placement as a stepping stone to independent living.
She decided she wanted to become a carer with the organisation after having a second child and not wanting to miss out on them growing up.
