A Shared Lives Carer and the person they support were called on to help us recruit a big role in the organisation.

Ruth Beadle and Aaron spent the day interviewing four candidates as part of the Deputy CEO appointment process.

The staff team, trustees and leadership team were all also involved in the lengthy process.

“It was nice to be involved, do something different and meet new people,” said Aaron.

“It was a really good day, and we got into our stride with the questions being asked and the questioning.”

Aaron enjoyed his involvement so much he’s now going to be in working with team leaders on creating some Easy Read documents and supporting documents on moving into a Shared Lives household.

Aaron has lived with Ruth for 11 years in the south Devon area.

“I love Ruth’s food and I love her,” he said.

“She helps me get up, she makes sure I have everything I need and is my organiser and admin.”
