About us

This carer provides outcomes-focused support to young people transitioning into adulthood, with an emphasis on building independence skills and preparing for employment or further training. They assist with budgeting, household tasks, and travel training, enabling young people to manage daily life effectively.

 

Using a person-centred approach, the carer supports goal-setting and decision-making, encouraging confidence and self-sufficiency. They also offer practical help with CV writing, interview preparation, and accessing work or training opportunities.

 

Committed to future planning, the carer helps young people reduce reliance on support, promoting independent living and sustainable progress.

 

These carers are a husband and wife team. The female carer is a local healthcare worker and her husband has many years of working in a very people orientated role, supporting and supervising individuals of differing abilities.

1 x long term vacancy, that would suit people of any age group who would enjoy living within a fairly busy family household. The carers are very motivated to support people to live as independently as they are able and have the skills to work with people on daily living and all skills towards or maintaining independence.
People who live with the family will need to have a degree of mobility due to stairs to the first floor of the property and a gently sloping front drive.

Currently resident are two adult children who both work, one college aged son and there are 2 young people in situ (foster placement) There are an assortment of animals including two friendly dogs, a kitten, tortoise and chickens.
The property is a spacious Victorian house with plenty of room for everyone to have their own privacy and time away from others if wanted. The main living rooms are large enough for all the family to spend time together and be sociable. The carer’s feel that meal times are a lovely family time where everyone can discuss their day and spend time together. The property is situated in a semi- rural location with countryside views a short walk from the centre of the popular village of Uffculme. The bedroom available is of a good size. Outside there are large gardens to the front and rear of the property.

There is an excellent range of local amenities a Nisa supermarket, Doctors’ surgery, Veterinary practice, cafes, garage, church, village hall and local pubs. There are plenty of social activities to take part in within the village and wider community.

The village is ideally situated for easy motorway commuting to Exeter, Taunton, Honiton or Tiverton and is on good bus routes including buses to local colleges.
