The property is a 3 bedroom detached house in a rural village setting located directly behind the church. There is a driveway with room for 2 parked cars and road parking for additional cars.
On entering the side door next to the car port with a small step, there is a small porch area with a downstairs toilet to the left. This leads to the kitchen/diner and then into the hallway with stairs, downstairs cupboard and door into the spacious lounge which has patio doors leading to the large well kept garden. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms and 1 single with a bathroom that has a shower over the bath. The bedrooms available to SLSW are one single room looking over the church and a double room looking over the garden.
The carer lives alone but has young grandchildren who visit regularly. As the carer has two rooms available to SLSW there is a possibility 2 individuals may be supported at the same time but this depends on the matching process.
The carer has a variety of skills with supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Older Adults, Dementia and Mental Health (not 117). She has worked within social care for the majority of her career working in supporting living settings and latterly part time at a Day Service. She has recently retired from the role at the Day Service but remains on the bank team for adhoc work as and when.
This vacancy would suit a variety of individuals, some of whom may be looking for a quieter rural setting and may enjoy relaxing or pottering in the garden and others who may be looking to be involved with cooking/baking, both which are also interests/hobbies of this carer.
There are good bus routes and a train station nearby in the local towns. The carer does drive but also enjoys using public transport when individuals are staying to visit various towns and beaches, go bowling or to the cinema.
The carer often supports individuals to Mencap discos and over community groups activities.
