About us

This vacancy is with a male carer who lives alone in a two-bedroom, second-floor flat in Minehead, with views overlooking a local park and the seaside. The home offers a calm and relaxed environment, ideal for individuals who benefit from quieter surroundings.

The carer has previously supported individuals through a Shared Lives scheme in another area and has fostering experience alongside his former wife and remains involved to support when she takes respite.

Before retiring, he worked on the railway, following an earlier career in the army. He has since returned to Minehead after living in Leeds. He is currently offering short breaks and interim placements for male individuals with LD, Autism, ABI’s and hearing impairments.

This placement would be particularly suited to someone who enjoys getting out and about, including car trips, walks in the hills or along the beach, and visiting local pubs or cafés for a meal or drink. The carer is best matched with someone who values a peaceful home environment and enjoys simple, community-based activities.
