Jan’s background
Jan is looking to be able to support someone to learn and grow and live a happy life in Chudleigh, between Newton Abbot and Exeter. Janet has had a very varied career, working with young people and with adults who need support with their mental health, sorting out their benefits and managing friendships and relationships to mention a few areas.
Chudleigh
Jan lives on the edge of the town in a terraced cottage and has a horse, two small dogs and a couple of chickens. She would welcome someone who wanted to get involved in a more rural life in the countryside, and/or someone who wanted to get more involved in local life in the town community. There are lots of clubs, shops, a GP’s surgery, classes for wellbeing, cafes and a sports centre. There are also regular buses to Exeter and to Newton Abbot and beyond.
What Jan has to offer
Jan loves to cook and to bake and would be keen to encourage someone who might want to live with her to develop their cooking skills so that they can plan and make meals for themselves and to get into good routines around doing their laundry and budgeting their money for day to day spending and perhaps saving for holidays and adventures.
Jan has one larger bedroom, which is for someone to come and live in the longer term and one smaller bedroom, which she hopes to be able to provide short breaks for anyone who would like to visit for weekends or other one-off or regular breaks for a change, to give their long term Carers a bit of a break or in preparation for leaving home.
