Shared Lives South West couple Ivor and Carol are looking forward to making Valentine’s Day extra special.
They are planning to go to The Castle Hotel, Taunton, for high tea this Valentine’s Day.
“You have to look out for your partner,” said Ivor.
“Think about what they need and keep loving them,” added Carol.
Ivor, who uses Shared Lives services and lives with Shared Lives Carers Rachel and Fran Bunce, wed Carol, who is Rachel’s sister.
School
The Somerset pair met at school when they were just 11 years old. However, it wasn’t until the pandemic that they got together when Rachel’s sister moved into the household when her support needs changed.
Ivor had been living with the Bunce Household since 2019 and recognised a photo of Carol on the wall when he moved in.
Over time they became companions and love blossomed for them.
Love
To celebrate their engagement they bought a silver and sapphire engagement ring together in Wells. They planned a lovely day celebrating with a glass of champagne at Bishops Palace.
Wedding
Soon after they booked their wedding at Huntstile Organic Farm, the venue where Carol grew up with her family, so holds a special place in her heart.
The couple have a love of art and designed their own invites for their wedding. They also both picked their special outfits for their big day.
Importantly, they also took time selecting their own music for the ceremony and their first dance.
Fran was Best Man and Peter, who lives with them and uses Shared Lives services, was the ring bearer on the special day.
On their wedding day, they took a trip in a Land Rover around the area. People came out and waved at them and wished them well as they are known by the community.
We hope you both have a super Valentine’s Day!
