Shared Lives South West Team Leader Anne Bilham and SLSW Carer Sarah O’Shea went on a road trip to Bristol to attend the judging day of the SW final of the GB Care Awards.
Sarah is a a finalist in the Putting People First category, similarly Anne is a finalist in the Home Care Registered Manager section.
The judging day took place at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol.
The SW final ceremony takes place at the same venue on October 25. After that, if they win they go on to the final of the GB Care Awards in the Spring.
It is the second award Sarah has been up for in a matter of months. She recently took home the Outstanding Supported Housing Award at the CAHSC Learning Partnership Cornwall Care and Support Awards.
Sarah has been a carer for SLSW for many years and currently supports two people through the scheme. She has worked with young people and supported them as a ‘stepping stone to independence’. She now looks after two people in the later stages of their life.
Anne has worked at Shared Lives South West for four years and recently took on the role of leading the Somerset team. She was nominated for her positive energy, passion for the job and commitment to providing high quality care.
